Give your idea
a clear shape.

Use the prompts to make a first outline in about 30 minutes. An honest gap is useful: write “to explore” wherever you still need evidence.

0 of 8 sections have notes. This measures your outline, not the quality of the project.

01

Who is this for? What could be easier, clearer or more comfortable for them? Keep the scope small.

02

Separate observations from assumptions. What could you observe or ask? Do not invent interviews or findings.

03

Describe three different approaches. Which would you try first, and why?

04

How could you make the idea tangible with paper, cardboard, a sketch, a model or a layout? What would it help you learn?

05

Give someone a relevant task, observe what happens, and note what you learn. If you have not tested yet, write your test plan.

06

Connect an improvement to evidence. If the evidence is not available, state the decision you will make after testing.

07

List the images, drawings or notes that would tell the story. Label concepts and work in progress clearly.

08

What remains uncertain? What will you do next? When you have completed the project, add what you learned.

Keep your work.

An outline is a starting point. Gather the evidence, try the ideas and return to improve the story.
